The Chase
for the Sprint Cup begins on Sunday,
September 11th with the Sylvania 300 at
New Hampshire International Speedway,
and concludes on November 22nd with the
Ford Championship 400. Following the
Chevy Rock &
Roll 400, only the top 12 drivers in the
point standings will be eligible to win
the series championship, which is
decided over the final 10 races of the
season.

In 2008 he became only the second driver to win three consecutive Sprint Cup Series Championships (Cale Yarborough won in 1976, '77, and '78). 2009 Chevy Rock N Roll Winner In 2009, Hometown hero Denny Hamlin (#11 FedEx Express Toyota) won the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway, solidifying his position in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Hamlin finished 0.379 sec. ahead of Kurt Busch (#2 Miller Lite Dodge).
