NASCAR's hottest drivers take on Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night, Aug. 23 for the Irwin Tools Night Race, also known as Sharpie 500 since 2001.
Tennessee gets its second shot of NASCAR Sprint Cup action when the Sharpie 500 invades Bristol Motor Speedway. It's Sprint Cup Series racing at its best. Each turn is a challenge for each driver as they compete against each other, going over 200 mph. Measuring in at .533 miles and featuring variable banking in the corners. Bristol Motor Speedway is very tight and very fast. Racing here was once compared to racing jetfighters in a gymnasium.
In 2007 the track was torn up and reconfigured. They made the track three feet wider, smoothed the transitions into the turns and added variable banking. Bristol Motor Speedway also plays host to the Food City 500 in earlier in March.

Matt Kenseth won a heated battle against Kasey Kahne to claim victory at the 2013 Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, after Kahne moved into the second position on Lap 473 of 500.
2012 Irwing Tools Night Race Winner
Denny Hamlin took the #11 FedEx Ground Toyota Camry to victory lane in Saturday night’s IRWIN Tools Night Race 2012 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Hamlin's 3rd win of this NASCAR Season also earned him the 20th win of his career, his first at the high-banked at the .533-mile short track.
2011 Irwing Tools Night Race Winner
Brad Keselowski posted his fourth straight top three finish and second victory since his accident. Keselowski best finish before 2011 IRWIN Tools Night Race vistory was at BMS on the 13th spot. The night was dominated by Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth. But thanks to some rapid-fire pitwork by crew chief Paul Wolfe and his Penske Racing crew, Keselowski grabbed the lead after the final caution on lap 415.
2010 Irwing Tools Night Race Winner
In front of 155,000, Kyle Busch and his No. 18 Doublemint Toyota won the 2010 IRWIN Tools Night Race, his 19th victory in 210 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. In an amazing accomplishment, Busch became the first driver to win in all three of NASCAR's national series in the same weekend. For the 2010 season, this is his third victory and 12th top-10 finish. This is also his fourth victory and ninth top-10 finish in 12 races at Bristol Motor Speedway.
